Planned Parenthood in the Lehigh Valley is moving back to where it belongs: downtown Allentown.
Starting Monday, July 2, Planned Parenthood of North East Pennsylvania’s Allentown Medical Center will be offering services at 29 North Ninth Street, just off Hamilton Boulevard.
“Our return to downtown Allentown signals a renewed promise to our clients – that we will be there for them, where they need us and when they need us, with the high-quality services they expect from Planned Parenthood,” said Kim Custer, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of North East Pennsylvania (PPNEP).
For the past five years, Planned Parenthood’s Allentown Medical Center has been located at 2901 Hamilton Boulevard, near Cedar Crest Boulevard.
“Our Allentown Medical Center has experienced incredible growth during the past several years now,” added Custer. “The new center on North Ninth Street dramatically expands our ability to serve the growing number of people who are seeking our high-quality medical services.”

There will also be a much larger waiting room and office space for our Allentown health education programs.
“We put a lot of thought into the design of this new center. A big consideration was patient flow to dramatically reduce the amount of time our patients spend waiting. I’m thrilled to be able to say that patient flow is vastly improved in the new center,” said Custer.
The North Ninth Street location will have the best access to public transportation in Allentown. The center is across the street from Allentown’s bus hub.
The new center will also easily accommodate the patients who have been driving to their appointments. There is an exceptional amount of parking – a parking deck off Linden Street, a parking lot off 8th Street and metered parking on all surrounding streets.
The phone number, hours of operation, and number of employees - which includes Spanish-speaking staff - will remain the same.
