GYN Exams
A complete GYN exam (or “a pelvic”) is an easy exam that can find
infections and check for disease. It is also the only way to detect cancer
of the cervix, which, if found early, is curable almost 100% of the time.
Your GYN exam includes:
Complete medical history
Blood pressure and weight check
Thyroid check
Pap test
Emergency Contraception
(EC or Morning After Pill)
Emergency contraception pills (EC) can reduce the risk of pregnancy
up to 120 hours after unprotected vaginal intercourse. They work best when
taken within 72 hours - during this time they can reduce the risk of
pregnancy from 75 to 89 percent. More
EC information.
All of our Planned Parenthood Health Centers carry Emergency
Contraceptive Pills.
